When Julee discovered this neighborhood home in Houston Heights, it was love at first sight. She knew the family community full of historical touches was the perfect place for a charming modern farmhouse. The design was largely inspired by Julee's time spent on a horse ranch — displaying barn-like edges and a bright white exterior. The final framing element was a wrap-around porch to inspire families from the neighborhood to come together.

"My larger vision for the home and kitchen was to build an open space that was warm, inviting, and would create beautiful memories for a growing family. I wanted to bring your eye in and up so I designed the house with a large wrap-around front porch and three french doors that led you into this gorgeous kitchen with a large marble waterfall island, dining and living space, with white oak chevron floors, and 24-foot ceilings with an amazing white oak ceiling feature."
"I have always loved to use a mix of natural wood elements bringing nature indoors and marrying that with eye-catching focal points. Bertazzoni appliances are undeniably beautiful to look at. They are like having a piece of art in your kitchen and I love the way that they offer panel-ready appliances so I could bring the white oak from my floors right onto the refrigerator and dishwasher for a clean, modern, and sophisticated look."
"I envisioned bringing a taste of the integrity and beauty of European engineering and design style to my modern farmhouse so I knew instantly that Bertazzoni were the appliances that I would use. This brand is just next level to me. And let's not forget how gorgeous every little detail is. As a designer and educator, I always say, 'Great design is in the details', and Bertazzoni is all about the details!"
