"Emelie's apartment is located in a house from the 1890´s in the middle of Stockholm's city. Since Emily was a young girl, she has dreamed of living in a “turn-of-the-century home” and after several years in the suburbs, together with her fiancé they longed for the pulse of the city. "

“When we bought the apartment in spring 2019 it was extreme downturn, many beautiful original details were destroyed by lowering the ceiling and laying plastic carpet on the floors. I wanted to recreate the beautiful details from the year of construction, so I tore down the wall between the kitchen and the bedroom to create an open floor plan and created a gathering place for family and friends.
I also divided the old living room by putting up a wall to create two bedrooms. The renovation also interested the floor and all the surfaces, I added elegant moldings to the ceiling and floors. The bathroom and kitchen were also completely renovated.”
Emily wanted an elegantly traditional style for her new home. “Our vision was to create a timeless and sustainable home with materials and colors that never go out of style that you can live with for a very long time. We had the same vision when we planned the kitchen. We therefore chose a bright kitchen in a greige color with a lot of storage and with details that went well with the "turn of the century style". Details in chrome and a worktop in Carrara marble grace the kitchen."
Emily chose the Heritage Series built-in oven in matt black. The textured finish perfectly suits her traditional-style kitchen, combining neutral tones of the cabinets with the classic appeal of the Series.
“This Heritage Series built-in oven stole my heart at the very first sight. I've never seen such beautiful appliances before. All the beautiful details - the thermometer, the original chromed handles, and those knobs… I was immediately drawn; it is definitely the jewel of the kitchen.”
“We love to gather friends and family, so we often have dinner parties at home.” Emily’s open floor plan provides a connection between the social areas and the kitchen, so cooking gets a central place in the home, and it becomes easy to cook together or to socialize when cooking.
“With our induction hob with integrated hood in the kitchen island, we can cook and at the same time be social with family and guests and don’t have to stand with our backs to the rest of the party. Aesthetically, it´s very discreet and takes no space from the room. This provides the flexibility to choose how big dining area or living room you need. It also makes it easier to have a smaller dining area for everyday life that can grow out of the living room for larger festivities.”
“My partner had always dreamed of one with a lot of storage! In Sweden, these are relatively unusual, and I think that gave the kitchen an international touché. The French Door refrigerator and the dishwasher from the Heritage Serie interact very nicely with its beautiful Heritage Series matching handles.”
The Bertazzoni French Door stands out and gives the kitchen an edge and at the same time homeliness.
"For us, having a common thread was very important. Bertazzoni dishwasher was the perfect choice to complete our kitchen suite because it seamlessly integrates into the whole space. With its 14 place settings has enough space to wash our party dishes and it is also extremely silent and efficient."
